posi carrier from obs into sd?

One of my buddy's has a posi rear axle that was in his 95 F350 that has a broken left axle shaft he wants to sell to me for $50. Everything but the left axle shaft is good. Would it be possible to switch the posi carrier from his rear end into my 99? He thinks it's possible to do but I want to know before I buy it.

I talked to a different buddy and he didn't think this would work. What do you guys think?

It should, I started looking at this since I had a spare OBS LS unit. Aftermarket carriers for the 10.25 and 10.5 are the same. I went to ford with my SD VIN and OBS donor VIN to confirm the ABS tone rings are the same. The reason I didn't carry through with the OBS LS swap was I found a '03 with a LS at the wrecker for $35.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear! Now I just have to decide whether I really have the time to do so.
