Chip or Tuner

I'm curious, what does everyone think is better. A trusty handheld tuner or a nice shift on the fly chip for a 7.3?

well thing is not every truck can shift on the fly,some of the newer trucks can only be programmed.i did a poll on another forum and the mods thought it would pit the vendors against one another.it may do that,BUT if the people vote for more tuners then they do another then that means there's a prob with there biz,if they get there feelings hurt,so be it!!! fix the problem,and newbs ask all the time,which tuner is better,and it really is opinion,BUT! the service and the way they conduct biz is diff.my o2

Chip... Altho these days I would be happy with just a flashed PCM... I never take it out of the street setting.

My 7.3 never left the street tune either.

My 6.0 stays in either Erics Extreme Street or Matts SRL all the time as well

It depends on what you want. Most people find one or two settings they like and they never change them. I've been both routes and have a programmer right now. It stays on Bill's 120 race unless I tow then I switch to the 65 moderate tow.

for 7.3 OBS or not = chip.....for 6.0 and newer = tuner. I also wanted an SCT just cause I only want one or two, but have found that not only is it cheaper but also better for a TS style.

What this nation needs is cleaner thoughts and dirtier fingernails...

chip is most deff the best fer the 7.3,6.0 programmer,6.4 dont know,ive had a programmer fer the 7.3 and it sux,i then went with the tw tune and man 0 man!!!! even stock truck,the chip makes the truck scream
