php chip questions
I was thinking about geting a programer for my 03 f250 4x4 7.3L with auto trans but im now leaning toward a php chip. I am thinking of just going with the phoenix six position. If i did that i was going to keep a stock setting, a 80hp light tow, and not sure what other settings yet.
I was curious what kind of differance people are noticing between the daily driver and performance modes. should i consider a race mode also or stay away from the 100hp tunes performace and race wise? I really dont want ot screw anything up on my truck so im looking at tunes that i wont have to worry about motor problems or blowing a trans ect. Im ordering gauges tomorrow and a s and b intake. Also what size is the stock exhaust? Should i go with a 4in or 5in turbo back before i get a tuner or will stock exhaust be fine? thanks mark |

Php has great tunes they wont harm your truck. 4" turbo back will be a nice touch, but you can straight pipe your stock exhaust too.

80 DD is a good tune, it shifts smooth and has power when you need it. I havent put on the 120 yet but the 100 performance shifts firmer and makes alot of boost.

Goose is right I did it backwards pretty much and luckily didn't hurt anything, but I would certainly get gauges before, cause you can make the egts go up super quick and you might not even realize it!

I love my pheonix chip from PHP.
I would recommend getting on their PHP forum. I did an got a lot of questions answered before I bought mine. Cody logs on himself an answers your questions which is a big plus. They are fantastic people to work with too. I ordered it on a Tuesday and had it installed that Saturday afternoon. Obviously this isn't guaranteed, but they won my future business for sure. I talked to Cody before I bought it and he was very helpful. Their online billpay service was out of service the day I ordered mine, and Corey called to get my credit car number so they could get it shipped out that day to me. Great product, great people, and great service. Can't really go wrong. |
