will it be ok if i delete my mufler on a 7.3

just wondering if it would be ok if i took off my muffler on my f-450 with a 7.3 with no modifications . would it hurt it after some time or would it do anything ?? and also wondering what it would sound like ??

take that and the cat off then do the 6637diy intake and it will sound bad a$$

well i don't want to do a lot of high performance stuff to it because i really want it to last a long time lol !! but what would it do if i just took off the muffler and replaced it with a piece of pipe ??

I got a little sawzall happy the other week and just cut mine off. Right now it is just dumped under the truck and sounds awesome! The lady friend didn't like it as much because her duramax is quieter and she doesn't want to be in a loud truck all the time...good thing for me I told her to kiss my and have a date with a new girl who loves the sound of my 7.3 tomorrow.

So to recap...do it! You'll love the sound!

yeah my friend has a 6.0 with no muffler but it sounds ok ...... it sounds more like a gas motor with no muffler.... do you think the 7.3 will sound a little better ?!

You can get on youtube there are quite a few videos out there of straight piped 7.3s. I personally dont, I never like the sound of a straight piped gasser but the sound my truck makes when I get on it is music to my ears.

will it whistle pretty loud also ? just by taking off the muffler only ?

it helps the whistle, but if you do like jethro said and dump the cat and throw a 6637 intake on it, she will whistle all day long
