exhaust housing

Im wanting to put a 1.00 exhaust housing on my turbo, I just bought the wicked wheel, and im going to either put a turbomaster, or banks wastegate on it..

my question is will 94-97 turbo exhaust housing work, and if so what all do I need to install it?

should I do a 1.00 or bump up to a 1.15..im not planning on too much for this build just a little stock turbo work, tw chip, 5" exhaust, and intake

after putting the wicked wheel on the turbo, do I need to get the turbo balanced?

No, the exhaust housing from a 94-97 will not work....different attachment to the up-pipes.

The 1.0 will work good with stock injectors or stage 1s, but if you ever plan on going bigger, then go with the 1.15. The 1.15 may be a bit laggy with stock sticks, but it's nothing that can't be "lived with".

well if I go with the 1.15 it does not have to be wastegated, right...

and does the 1.00 have to wastegated

is it better to go with or without the wastegate

looking for the best bang for the buck

You do not need a wastegated turbo. You can either put a 1.0 housing from someone like beans or get a 99.5-03 van turbo charger. The van turbo will be a slightly larger exducer wheel with a 1.15 non wastegated housing. All you will need is an adapter to fit the non wastegated housings to your downpipe.

I would go with the 1.0 and it will be fine with up to stage 2 sticks. I see 34psi with stage 2's and 1.15 van turbo.
