2000 f350 diy intake and muffler questions

Hello,

I just purchased a 2000 f350 dually with the 7.3. I have been looking at mods to do to the truck and i want to do the diy intake and a muffler delete with flexs pipe. I was wondering where do I get the right sized flex pipe and what size? Also, can I pick up the diy filter from discount auto if so what is the part number or the brand. Where do I get the metal piece to connect the pipe also.

Thanks.

Also, what chip/programmer do you guys recommend for this truck?

I used the Napa 6637 filter but ordered online as the local napa wanted ~$62!!! As for the pipe, I got some 3" PVC from home depot and 2 clamps.

I ordered the 6637 from Fleetfilter.com and picked up the small chunk of 4" exhaust pipe from a local muffler shop. I wouldn't recommend a programmer as much as I would a custom burned TS chip. I currently have a chip burned by PHP on my 01 and I think I may try another tuner for my 99 to compare to PHP.

For the flex pipe, pick up some 3.5" ID from your local International dealer or CarQuest.
