7.3L TS Chip Question

Buddy of mine has a 99 F-250 7.3L and we just installed a TS chip on it. The truck use to have a Banks chip before he bought it. Anyways, I helped him install it, and followed instructions.

After driving it, the truck check engine light comes on but, when you turn the truck off and restart it, it doesn't come on. until after driving and he says it comes on during deceleration.

Truck has a exhaust, gauges, and air intake.

Any ideas?

Probably threw a sensor code. It may not come back on until he goes over the preset parameters of the PCM to make the SES light come on. It will be stored in the computer though. Just have him use a scan tool to read what it is and report back. Someone will be able to tell you what it means.

Thats the weird thing. Soon as the truck turns off, the light goes away and the scan tool finds zero codes. Light codes on everytime he drives, scan tool says turn off the truck, and then the light goes away.

Its clearing out due to there is no issue with it running until it builds up boost. Sounds like he needs to do the SES mod.Meaning when it hits over boost it kicks the light on.Simple and cheap

It is an over boost SES light. Mine did the same thing until I did the SES Light mod, or I am told that you can do the Zinier mod for the Map sensor, but not sure on this one???????

Cheapo scan tools wont read diesel codes. But its most likely a p1211 ICP code or overboost code
