456 with 38's and im still off by 10????

i have 456 gears with 38 inch tires and my speedo is still off by roughly 10? dosent seem right what do you guys think? also i have a dp-tuner at the house ready to install but im worried that the truck won't act right as far as shift points and power with the tuner installed??????

Do i need truspeed or get it programmmed for the tuner to work properly?

Did you tell Jody you were running 4.56 gears and 38's when he wrote the tunes?

If so you will be fine.

But yes you will need a truspeed either way to make the speedo accurate

well its in my profile on the dp-tuner website. and when they sent me the tune it says in the peice of paper 456 gears with 38's and 4 inch exhaust and air intake. so i guess they tuned for the gears and tires then?

hey parkesj,

what rpm's are you running at about 60mph in your truck with those gears? I have 5.13's in mine and they are just to low of a gear, fun off the line and off-road, but my overdrive is pretty much not there.. oh and I was only 5mph off with my gears then i got the truespeed and and its dead on now.

i think 60mph is about right at 2k, but like i said im 10 off or so, so i could be a little wrong. but roughly about 2k. does that seem right?
