Boost Tube Q's

I noticed some folks are running the boost tube from BCD. I was thinking of throwing one in when I order some other stuff, I know it's only $6.00 but is it worth doing? I think I had also read some folks are simply disconnecting the wastegate actuator, because the stock turbo will not make enough boost to hurt anything. True, not true?

I have a homemade intake ( the Zoodad/Suzuki mod ) as I like to call it, and a freshly installed Magnaflow turbo back. Gauges are in the works.

Thanks all....

You will also need to consider overboosting and fooling the mAP, if you decide to disconnect the Waste or use the boost tube either way.

I ordered and installed the dual relief valve to fool the MAP sensor while the wastegate is disconnected, but twice in the last 3 days, it has still thrown the SES light, both times it was the P1249 code. According to the boost gauge, the truck is hitting a max of 21 PSI, the boost gauge is connected to the AIH. So I have no idea what the problem could be, it would seem that the relief valve is not doing it's job. Thats the only thing that would give the code, there is currently not a chip/programmer installed.

I changed my post after reading what P1249 was in my manual:

Its the waste gate error occuring (If you have the boost tube installed, the waste gate dis-connected, or waste gate mulfunction) you get the P1249 error. The Dual relief valve is working properly in this case:

P1249 = Waste Gate Fail Steady State test

With the waste gate connected, I have no problems at all, with or without the valve installed, which is how it should be. With the valve installed, and the wastegate disconnected, the SES light will trip, if the boost goes over 21 PSI. I had a chance last night to make some runs and see where it was haapening.

Nothing you can do to stop the waste error, other than keeping connected w/o the tube.

Isn't the relief valve intended to prevent this?

These are 2 different things.

The dual relief valve will prevent over boosting, other wise you will get and overboost code. The error you are getting is from the waste gate staying open, and the PCM is detecting it thus your SES light. As long as you are NOT running in defuel mode when this happens, I would not worry about it.

Any suggextions on correcting the problem? I would rather not run around with the SES light on, if for some reason the truck were to throw another code, something more serious, I would never know. Does Dfuser offer anything that may help?
