What Intake Are You Running??
I was just curious what intake most of you are running? So I figured I would start a poll (I didn't see another poll during my search, but I could be wrong).
If you have any pros/cons you want to mention about your intake, or things you wish you would have done different, that would be great. I'm stock for now, but would kind of like the S&B. But I'm thinking for the money that I might do a DIY until I can afford the S&B. Last edited by SJB; 06-01-2010 at 05:15 AM. |

Any Modifications Done, Please Post!!!!
For you guys/gals that have the DIY kits, if you have done some modifications such as added a bracket, clamp, strap for support please post a picture and tell us what you used.
Or if anybody fabricated their own heat shield or box, please post pictures and tell us what you did. It would be appreciated. |

I haven't had a heat shield on mine but I did do the Zoodad mod. Somebody on here said they had some kind of programmer or diagnostic tool hooked up to monitor the readings of the air temp sensor that goes in the intake before and after the zoodad mod and it supposedly lowered the underhood temp about 10* iirc.

OTHERS
For you OTHERS out there, post what you have. I thought that I had most of the intakes listed, but obviously there are some out there that I'm not aware of.
Dang, I just realized I forgot K&N.

I realy like the flow and the filtering the 6637 provides. Although I am running a Volant very exspensive filter set up which my truck came with I would not spend that kinda money. However the one thing i do like it is a sealed box built from heavy thick plastic which helps to eliminate under hood heat going into the motor. It also has a duct that goes right up and gets fresh air from the Zoodad not hot engine compatment air. Some will argue and say that is what the CAC is for. But I think the cooler the air starts the cooler the air ends.

6637 Filters Kind of Pricey
The only thing I don't like about the 6637 filter is the price. I called my local Napa and they told me $55. I have found them online for around $31, but after shipping it is back to around $40 or more. I've found reusable/cleanable filters such as the Amsoil and S&B which are close to the same price as the 6637. Seems more cost effective to go with one of these reusable filters over the 6637, but that is just my opinion.

You can do a DIY with any 4" clamp on filter.
