While doing a complete fluid flush and upgrade on my trans., i discovered that my nuisance oil leak was not the rear main seal as I thought earlier. Of course, if I had just paid attention a little more, I would have learned that the 7.3 almost never looses the rear main seal. So it's good news, right?
After a little more investigation, it looks as though I've got to pull the turbo and pedistal and put some new o-rings in. This should not be too big a job, but now the question.
With the turbo out, should I do anything to it like a wicked wheel or EBPV work or what?
Remember, this is a California truck. November of 2011 will be it's first smog check (if the current regime is still in power). I know I'll have put a few things back to stock, no biggie, but I don't want to get stuck with major problems.
There will be a TW chip installed in a couple of weeks.
Suggestions?
