Turbo Time!!!!!!!!

ok guys here it is. i went out and ruined a perfectly good stock turbo on my last trip towing my trailer. yeah i smoked that poor thing. its making all sorts of noises now, but i had a feeling i would but hoped it would have lasted a little longer.

I'm in the market for a new better turbo. before i get " ball bearing" replies from you id like to know if there is anything better or more durable out there that can be rebuilt if it goes again. i have had my eye on a ball buster turbo and like what i hear about it but id like to know if you guys have any input. i do value your knowledge because you guys have been at this for a lot longer than i have.

please know that any constructive recommendations will be greatly appreciated

Hypermax h2e, best all round 7.3 psd turbo avail right now IMO. Its a very common turbo and easy to rebuild. Its a little pricey but worth it, last i checked they were around 2300 bucks for turbo kit. You get alot of stuff in the kit, its not just a a turbo. You get new manifold up pipes, turbo pediestal and plate, oil supply and drain lines, driverside ic pipe, 3.5" dp, turbo (duh lol) and probably a couple other little items i forgot. Heck look at a ballbearing turbo its 1800 bucks for a turbo alone and its not even rebuildable!

Just my .02

ive looked at that one and got a little sticker shock from it but im sure from what ive read about it that it is worth every penny , but i dont have that many pennys so so far im still sold on the ball buster for now. its price is around 1300 and its rebuildable too. if any one know any bad things about it id love to hear them. it sounds almost to good for the money but im hoping.

A bb can be rebuilt, but its almost as much as buying a new one.

Another option would be a van turbo, they will handle more than our stock turbo's. You will need an adapter plate, but you can pretty much get into the setup for around 800 or so. I have a buddy that is selling a fresh reman one on ebay, pm me if you want the info.

With the mods you have, the bb will work just fine, it is when you start throwing some more fuel at it, that you start getting over its ability, however my buddy justin laid down 427 hp and 1014 torque with a bb.
