Exhaust tip??

Now that i have my MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust broken in id like to put a tip on it.
I dont care for the polished look but saw a black one at the local performance shop the other day and liked it. Been pricing around and holy crap the tip is over half of what the whole system cost me. Running about $150 (+,-)

Is anyone running this tip? Do you like it? Can I expect a better tone from the exhaust or does it just make it pretty? Did you pay that much or is there another vendor with a similar item without the riveted on red tag for a better price?

Thanks
Gordon

The tip is purely cosmetic and won't do anything to change your exhaust note.

If you're looking at getting a black one, you might consider buying a cheap tip and having it powedercoated (or Line-X'd). I know the tip you're talking about and no, it ain't cheap!

I put a 6 in. tip on my stock system and it did make the whistle ring out more. I paid 75 for mine, and that included the install.

You can buy a cheap one and paint it with high temp BBQ paint.I painted my stainless one....Heat it up to around 200* and start laying the paint to it.Dry in no time.

Great ideas on painting one. Guess what mom allows me to spend on one will ultimately determine what direction I go. I like the paint idea.
In high school id always put the 18" long echo chamber tips on the dualed out gasoline engines with glasspacks. Is there a tip that would provide an increased sound like that on the 7.3?
My kids are wearing wigs for halloween identical to the mullett haircut I had in high school too so maybe the tip is one more thing ment to change.
LOL
