Need advice on next mod...
Hi guys, Its been a long time since I've posted on here but I need some advice. I've got the exterior/interior the way I want it and now I'm getting ready to do some upgrades to the engine on my truck but I can't decide on what to do next. The truck is a 2000 CC LWB Dually, 6 Speed, 2wd, 168k miles. I primarily use the truck on the interstate (unloaded) but want to be able to pull my 10Klb fifth wheel camper too. I want a truck that makes reliable power and economy, not a finicky dragstrip queen. 400-450 rwhp is the rough goal, and I have about a $3500 budget. Here is what I have now engine wise:
Tymar (6637) and a Zoodad Straight pipe on the stock exhaust DP Tuner Boost and Pyro Guages I'm going to get 4" duals, Which one of our sponsors has the best deal on an aluminized or SS system. I'm thinking of some new Injectors or a GTP38. Would you guys do the turbo or injectors first, and if you say injectors, Which one???? If not a turbo or injectors, the what would you do? ![]() Thanks, Joey Last edited by JoeyCleland; 10-19-2009 at 03:58 AM. |

I would do a 38r 1st and a Regulated Fuel Return
THEN I would get some good Hybrids from Nate at Unlimited Diesel and some new tunes to match them. IMO Get the tunes from who builds the Injectors |

Will I have enough fuel to run the 38r with just a chip? should I go with the 1.15 housing? What size hybrids would you recommend?
Thanks Joey |

I would do the turbo first. 38R will get you in the range you want. I wouldn't bother with the bigger turbine housing unless you have surge problems. Or you can just upgrade to the H2E kit and not worry about it. Then just get some standard hybrids. I wouldn't try to get anything made bigger than your standard Hybrid as you'll most likely start to run into hpo issues. You can have your current chip retuned or get a chip from someone else. Personally I'd recomend Bill from Power Hungry Performance.

38R first... and a 1.15 housing... wouldn't be a bad idea.
Fuel will be fine... |

I would just stick with the 1.0 housing as your numbers are still relatively low. I like "250ish" hybrids |
