Almost all are just as good since most of them are made by the same company DEI. DEI makes Viper, Python, Hornet, Code Alarm, Avital, Clifford, Code Alarm. I am getting ready to put Excaliber on Powerstroke. Just make sure they work with diesel and it has a turbo timer on it for after you do some heavy pulling. Not all the models will work with diesel.

Go for it man you will not be unhappy as long as it is installed right. The alarm has a lifetime warranty if I remember right. Just make sure it is installed by a good installer.

It has several that I will never use..IE..vacation mode(detects voltage drop below 11.5v,then starts engine to help charge batts..also monitors air temp and will start the vehicle if it gets to cold out)..Daily start(programs it to start at the same time every day).
Keyless Entry..Remote start-connects to wait to start light...Panic Mode..Car finder.Activate headlights..Quick stop mode(press the momentary switch 4 times and it allows you to remove they keys, lock and arm the vehicle for the programmed amount of time.)IE..to go into the store for up to 15 minutes.
All in all,not bad for under $100.00.If you have never installed a remote start before,it might be a stretch for you to do.Install time was roughly 6 hrs, with many installs under my belt.Just take your time and its not that bad though.
Model#24927 Ready Remote..Lemme know if you have any other questions.Hope this helps.

I'm in the process of getting a buddy to install the viper 5901. Looks like a good product. Like newlystroked said DEI pretty much makes all the products now. I just chose the 5901 because the key fob was cooler. The brains are all the same.

My dad has been a dealer for code alarm and excaliber and k9 for YEARS now (think: early 90's) and he swears by their stuff. Lifetime warranty if he installs it.
