Tuner at 300,000 miles?

recently got a early 99 f350 with an auto trans with 300,000 miles on it,it has a 6 inch lift & 35's,my question is will it hurt to put a tuner on it with this milage?has a k&n filter in the stock box & am going to replace factory muffler with something that flows better, want a chip that actually does help the trans, any suggestions would be appreciated,thx...r

A tuner puts extra stress on the motor and drive train if you like to play with the settings ( holeshots 4x4 boosted launch etc). If you use it with discretion, you should not have many issues.

That K&N in the stock air box is going to destroy your engine long before a tuner will. You need to do the supporting mods before adding more Ponies, if you do these and not drive it like you stole it than a good tune from DP, TW, etc... will only help your powertrain. I know for a fact that my truck works less to do the same job as it did prior to mods, this should equate to longer service life.

I personally would stray away from DP...especially at that many miles

I recomend Matts tunes to every one simply because thats what i have and love them. No problems what so ever. All custom tuners can tune your tranny (shift points, line pressures, etc) to your likings

Hope this helps
