Oh yeah, as far as the extra boost for a twin or a supercharger, or nitrous for that matter. That guy that was selling that blown 7.3 on ebay sells lower compression ration pistons for the 7.3 and a crane cams camshaft that reduces cylinder pressure 70psi.

only thing to consider...and i dont off hand know the limitations....is since the compression is what ignights the fuel....how low can you go and still get efficient fireing????......just something to consider.......Marc

Well that same motor I'm talking about in my other posts supposedly dropped from 17.5:1 down to 15.5:1, but with the added pressure of a supercharger then you'll get the extra compression. The only thing though is I know that supercharger isn't boosting at cranking speeds on start up.

the glow plugs ignight the fuel on start up, so thats probably not an issue....and going from 17.5 single turbor to 15.5 super/turbo isnt probably anything to worry about fuel ignition wise.....just do your research and make sure the dropp in compression isnt taking away more power than the blower....if all looks good.....please keep me informed......Marc

I definately will, I think I'm leaning more towards the twin. It looks a little less complicated.

Cool Twins

There is a trade off for usable big HP. All the big engines I have ever had with twin's or huge singles all had reduced static compression. Cummins was the lowest one I had at 14:8. They didn't have glow plugs so you crank'm with your foot on the floor then get out and thump the tires. The atomized fuel would light easier the next cranking. I'm shure the EPA would have spit if they saw the smoke that was emitted during warmup. Cylinder filling verses static compresion ratio can make big HP with out a melt down.
