TURBO ?'s

Sup boys,
Just found this site...pretty bad ***. Luv it! Anywho, i got a 99.5 F250 ps. had it for goin on 6 yrs now n my turbos startin to go. Im really ****in broke at the moment, so im going with the banks rebuilt kit with the Banks compressor wheel. Ive decided on that, unless yal know a better "cheap" way for it to be done. My question is,
1) those rebuild kits worth a damn?
2) Any1 have a good step by step article/description of how to rebuilt turbo
3) N anything else u think id run into with this job
Gotta steroid ts chip w/ 150 hp gain, so nuttin real serious under hood. Tirbo should hold up right? n why/how does this foil delete program work?
Any tips n feedback welcome
Thanks gentleman!
Jake

welcome to the org! anyways the kit and wheel should work great. By the way, how is your turbo going out? what kind of problems are you having that led you to believe that its going bad? just asking cause it might need more than a kit

You can just hear it. The turbos makin all sorts of noises. Gotta weirder sound to it on acceleration. Gotta different sound to it once truck shuts off n turbos down. Blows blue smoke at low rpms on acceleration n also blows blue smoke when i let off throttle. Other than that, the motors strong as hell n runs great. LOL, n also, had a mechanic look at it n they also said it was a turbo issue.

Well if its making noises, i would suggest pullin the turbo first and pullin the housings off, it may have wheel damage in which case you would need more than a kit, but its your call, just a suggestion.

Yeah pull the turbo. Take a look at it. If the housing is destroyed you might not be able to rebuild it. But Skip the banks rebuild kit. Get it from Beans diesel performance and stick a WW on there.

Never heard of the steroid ts chip... might want to update with a Dptuner, Power hungary performance, swamps or many other tuners out there... Probably quite a difference then what you are running.

As far as the foil delete... all that does is create some more turbo noise. Pop the hood and look at the intercooler tube with the foil on it...

Send a message via Yahoo to Big_Stroker
I'm with Layson on this one.... Get you a rebuilt kit from Beans and a WW skip the banks junk.

Then send that TS to someone like Matt @ Gearhead or Bill @ PHP and get it reburned with some good custom tunes.

The TS tunes are junk IMO you will be MUCH happier with some good custom tunes.
