My early 99 has slightly smaller injectors and a slightly smaller compressor housing. The intake plenums are also 2" instead of 3". Theres some others too but thats the biggest difference.

Do you think the 315's with your gearing might be giving you the bad MPG?

I also don't get the best. I think low teens. I just haven't check it lately. But I will start.

Well im guessing that is not the problem. My brother has a 99 7.3 also with 315's and like i said he hits the 20 mark easy.

Ok so ive done some research. I'm thinking that im gonna go with a banks monster exhaust w/power elbow (i like the idea of stainless), gauges, and the TW 6 stage chip for now. And then some time in the future throwing in the 38r, the banks intercooler, and possibly some injectors. If i were to purchase the bighead wastegate from banks, would it work well with 38r later on or would i have to replace it at the same time i replaced the turbo?

If you get custom tunes it will also tune the trans. If you have an auto just get a valve body or something to help.

Yep if you have an auto that will do you good. BTS and JW make good ones. Also the FTVB I believe is one too

Ive heard only great things about tony wildmans tunes also..Id like to get one. but i am going to do a ZF6 swap first.. I have a edge juice w/attitude and it destroyed my auto.. With my 4 inch down pipe to straight side dump, volant intake, fairly easy driving, and 37's. i get about 13 around town, and 18-20 on the highway. Just last friday, i pulled my EBP sensor and tube, and it was completely clogged with several holes in my tube, and my sensor was totally trashed so i ordered all new and cleaned my bracket also..
I've seen tons of posts that this helps alot with performance and mileage, gains up to 2-3 MPG, so people can check this also if they are looking for better mileage.
Guzzles website has a great step by step instruction manual and pictures for this.. guzzle7pt3.com i think is the website..
