if your gonna run 40's then gears should be a definate item on your do-to list.. and 4.56's would do just fine.. hell i got 38's on my truck and i'm runnin 5.13's.. and yeah it sux on the highway, but i do alot of stop and go driving, plus i take her to play alot.. so off-road is where i really use them.. but yeah man i'd definatly do gears if i were you.. your tranny will thank you in the long run too..

oh and with the 4.56's you'd be fine on the highway too.. i got plenty of buddies with lifted PSD's runnin 4.56's on 40's and even 44's , they have gotten alot of thier off-the-line power back and they move down the road alot better..
