Just installed stage 1 injectors, rebuilt turbo with ww and ebpv deleted, changed trans fluid and filter along with John woods valve body and some custom tunes from php on the hudra. Trans is a 4r100hd from ford that I got just a year and a half ago and 25k miles. Only put 150 miles on trans since upgrades due to some small issues had to be worked out and I noticed tge trans is slipping and getting hot. New fluid is already burnt smelling. This trans was working perfect before these mods. Now I'm wondering or at least hoping this could be some tuning issues?? And now my concern is my warrenty is going to be voided???
Any suggestions?
Yea it is but I kept the stock one just for the reason lol
Valvolime and ford filter
Install was easy and went exactly by intructions
Just was curious if maybe the tunes was an issue
And can't go stock due to injectors lol
Only bought custome one
65 and 80 dd
65 tow
140 extreme
Just installed glow shi**** gauges due to lack of money
But as soon as I turn the key on it shows 120 and I know it ain't right because it's only 15 degrees outside
But anyway the huge got up to 220!! I have a 6.0 cooler. I knew the trans wouldn't hold much but seeing as it slipped so soon and also I have even ran it hard or turned all the way up?? Honestly think I messed up here since I can't afford a bts...
The bypass on the 4r100 is a pressure bypass not a thermal one so if your line pressure is too high then it could trip it. Disconnect the return line at the cooler or where the rubber hose goes into the hardline up by the engine, if you have flow the bypass isn't your problem. Check you lr lines to make sure the soft ones aren't pinched or bound
Might not be a bad idea to throw the OEM VB back in to see if that helps.
Everything that I read back when I did my first flush always said to use Mercon V. This is about the only board that I've read that says it's ok to use these other fluids. I've been using Mercon V for over 250k miles with no issues at all.
Ok guys so here's what I've found so far. I took the john woods valve body back out so I could take the trans for warrenty. Installed stock valve body and drove truck only on 65 dd and it ran great and didn't slip! Only drive it maybe 10 miles but still never slipped. So now I'm curious to if the john woods valve body is leaking internally dumping pressure???
Doesn't sound like you are over HP'ed. I have thrashed mine since new and have had no issues. I put in a 1/2 accumulator and the tri springs. Jody tuned it high pressure at all times and stock shift points. I also just put a 5r converter in. Never have any deposits in the pan. I changed mine while new to type F fluid. Done this to every trans I have ever had. All brands.
