Why the FOIL delete mod?

Whats the deal with the foil delete mod.? what does it actually do and what does it actually gain you?

Its really only to be an ascetic addition to your engine compartment and to make the whistle from your turbo more pronounced!

I could tell a difference. Normal cruising its pretty much the same. Once you hit about 12 pounds of boost is when it starts getting noticable.

I noticed a good difference in whistle. As for it cleaning up the engine compartment, i lost my patience cleaning the insulation off so i just took my angle grinder to it. 10 minutes and it was off, just has a rough look to it now...

the whistle is definately more noticeable.. i didnt care about the looks.. a great free mod!

do some trucks come without it ? my 99 doesnt have it and it was a one owner, he said he said he only put transmisions in the truck.

Early 99s didn't have the foil. Though somehow the early 99 tubes that Nick bought had foil on the hot side.
