another a/c question

so i have read a few threads about a/c but mine is doing something different then everyone elses. i cant get my clutch to come on at all. do you guys think the whole clutch is bad? also i have already replaced the pig tail and it was at the point if you wiggled it around it would come on till i hit a bump but now its not coming on at all. someone told me if its low on freon then it wont come on so it could be that also. i just need to get it figured out asap since i have a 5 hr road trip on wed and dont wanna have to take the escape since its a gas not diesel. lol.
