Best chip for an old 2000 7.3 or no chil
I have a 2000 7.3 with 335,000 miles on it stock. I want to put a chip on it after i put in an exhaust and air intake. What kind of chip should i use to make it faster but not tear up the transmission or burn up the motor? Should I even get a chip? I want the truck to last forever, but still want better performance.

Please use the search button! There is no "BEST" chip!!! What is awesome for one person is garbage to another. I will tell you the most popular is DP and TW, I have DP and it works for me. There is a huge difference between a generic tune and tunes from these two gentleman!!! Before you add any more ponies you need to do the supporting mods, gauges, intake, free flow exhaust, I would support the auto trans with a tuned VB as well.
There are no promises though, if you play sometimes you got to pay!!! You can see my mods in my sig. I know for a fact my truck works less to do the same job then it did in stock mode, this should equate to longer component life, but as I said there are no promises!! If you have 300K+ on a stock trans you are on borrowed time anyway!! NCH |
