Rims

Hey Ya'll,

My boss has a '02 F-250 CC SB 4x4 and has the factory 16" rims w/ some BFG A/T's on 'em. He was saying thgat he wanted to get a bigger rim that was a ford stock rim and the one's on my '05 I bought are 18" factory wheels.

So, my question is, will the 18" factory rims off my '05 fit on his '02??

Also, he has the lariat pkg and wants a replacement overhead computer because his burnt out..... anybody got one lying arond that they wanna sell??

Thanks!

factory wheels for an '05 will only fit an '05 and up. That was the year they went to the coil spring front. Will cause rubbing issues with the leaf springs in the front of his truck I believe is the problem. He can add wheel spacers to make them fit if he chooses to go that route. The lug patterns are the same but the backspacing is all wrong for the older trucks.

For the 05 rims, he'd need spacers to keep them from rubbing.
For the computer- they can be fixed... check out this link.

Im pretty sure 06F250FX4 is right, you can run them on the 99-04's, but you will have to use a spacer in conjunction with the wheels

Thanks for the link!

If it works, it sure beats the heck out of paying a few hundred dollars for another one!

How big of a spacer would be needed?? is there a place that makes/sells the required spacers to make them work??

Well, if you and he decide to go the spacer route, good luck replacing your ball joints way more than you should have to. the better route is to front the cash for rims of the size he wants, with the proper backspacing. Can you tell Im anti-spacer? Ghead, ask me why.

I'm with ya, but if someone wants to do it the spacers are out there someplace.

The spacers can be found pretty easily, ebay, wheel stores. I am also not a fan of spacers. They cause a lot of extra stress on front end components. But put it out there as it is a possibility.

Ya, I've heard mixed reviews on the use of spacers myself.....

but, what size would it need to be to correctthe offset?? Did ford have optional 18" rims frm the factory in the late '99-early '03 year range??

Thanks
