Afe Restore kit

IS the restore kit for the afe intake the same as the cleaning kit for the k&n filters? Or whats a cheap way to restore the intakes? im just wanting to clean the old intake. thanks

I use K&N recharge kits to clean and oil my AFE filter. All the brands of cleaning kits are basically the same. A mild soapy solution for cleaner and filter oil. Only difference is the dye in the oil.

ive heard before that you can use atf to clean the filter is that true?

I always use the aFe restore kit for mine. I can pick it up locally for $13. I would try to find it near you, because if you order it online it's aerosol, you'll pay $15 for shipping.

i always use motor bike filter oil and cleaner you get big aerosol cans and it always worked for me like SHU873 said its just soap and oil
