Go to the "Hula Hut" on the lake it's pretty cool and not expensive. You can eat there on the lake.

Not from there but while visiting a few years ago, we went to a great burger joint called Hut's ( I think), lots of stars have been there, pics up on the wall. Any Austin folks chime in for me if thats not the name of it please....

Go to the congress street bridge which is basically just one block south of the 1st st and congress intersection right downtown... at sunset and watch all fo the millions of bats fly from the cave, if your kids are smaller 5 to 14 years old take them to Austin park and pizza, they have a very large gameroom and bumper cars and boats, go kart racetrack. If you and your wife are able to get out alone go to Esther's Follies on 6th st. its a good comedy show, call ahead for reservations it get filled fast. What do yall like to do? I live like 20 minutes from Austin so i can pretty much send you anywhere but i dont know what you like. Lemme know.

There is a place right on the lake. that sets on a bluff over looking the lake.. Awsome view. and great food. Just cant remember the name of it haha.

Stubbs BBQ is good if you want to catch a concert as well.
