Early 1999 vs 2000
Hey guys i have a 2000 f350 4x4, 7.3, 4 door, srw. I was looking to trade it for a dually and found a guy he has a 1999 pretty sure its a early 99(build date is 7/98) and the turbo looks smaller. Can you guys tell me what they changed on the trucks and what you think of the deal, his is lariat mine is not. both 4 door 4x4 with the 7.3. He wants to do the deal today but i figured id ask all of you.
Also is it a early 99? Will my dp-tuner from my 2000 work on his truck? |

That is a good thread to read for the differences.
Your DP will work as long as the PCM code is the same. You'll need to pull the PCM to find out. |

Even if it's not the same could it should still work. Jody told me at a live tuning event last month that if my PMT2 ever ****s the bed on me, I can plug my DP Tuner into my original early 99 Cali PCM and it will work fine.

Oh OK. I didn't know that, but it probably won't run as well as something that was specifically designed for that PCM code I would think.

I would guess so as well.
