Amsoil Synthetic

How many miles between changes? I am not pulling a trailer, but I tend to stomp the throttle alot. LOL

I am using a NAPA gold filter, if it matters.

you need to go to blackstone labs website and run oil analysis testing to appropriatly determine that.....there is not "specific number"...id go by oil testing....

Typically using the Amsoil filters its recommended for 15K mile intervals. Without knowing the effectiveness of the Napa filter, oil analysis is the only way to do it. Also, with analysis, you can extend farther than the 15K as long as your oil remains in suitable condition for use.

Hey Diesle Nut, just curious, who makes the recomondation for 15,000 between changes, is that from Amsoil itself or is that an independent study. I've always been of the understanding that It dosn't mater. that the oil should be changed at around the same intervals weather it be dyno. or synthetic, due to the soot build up in the diesel. Save a bit of money if thats the case---- I like that.

Amsoil recommends their oils for 15K when using amsoil filters. This is the results of their extensive testing. I know the oil can go longer, with oil analysis, but most people don't want to spend that time and money, they just change it. Sure you could do it with dino oil, but you need to use oil analysis about every 5K to make sure its still usable. Synthetic oil is much more stable and less likely to break down than dino oil. And there is no replacement for high quality filters.

The oil and filters are available through any Amsoil dealer, like myself.

Not all dealer keep a stock on hand, but some do. I have several customers north of the border and typically we just drop ship oil and filters directly to them from the warehouse nearest them. Let me know if I can be of some help.

Along with oil analysis you would also want to take a serious look at by-pass oil filtering for extended drain intervals. Amsoil also has those available in kit form. The bypass filter is what will really control the soot build up. Amsoil Ea filters are absolutely fantastic in both full-flow & bypass positions.

Just passing along additional information.

Doug
