Ive got that on my truck and I couldnt tell a performance difference but it gave me a great place to hook up my boost gauge so I could put a boost fooler on and still know what my real boost number is. It will not mess up the truck and what it replaces is not a sensor, its an Air intake heater. In colder climates it, as the name implies, it heats the air in the intake. (Not tryin to be a smarta$$)

I also herd that it blocks about 20% of the airflow inside the pipe, so I would imagine if you remove it, the air flows a little better. But if your in a colder climate I think It might be a good Idea to leave it on. Not that sure of the percentege though, I'm sure one of the techs will be able to clear that up.

I think even if youre in colder climates all oyu have to do is plug it in at night. There are so many variables that have to be met in order for the AIH to even come on light ambient temp, oil temp, glow plug on, and i think thats it. It does block like 20%. When you take it out you will see how big it is.
