Front end play?

Anybody else have about 3-4 inches of front end play. By 3-4 inches I mean if i was to scribe a line in the air with the wheel pulled left, to just when the tires started turning, then turned the wheel the oppisite way and scribed another line in the air, at the same place on the steering wheel, it would be about 3-4 inches.
Tie rods look ok, ball joints look ok

Could be your steering box, there shouldn't be that much play in it. Be careful when adjusting, do 1/8th turns until it feels right, to much and it will grenade!!

my steering box has play how do i adjust play in it!!

looking down on the top of the steering box There is a lock nut with a screw running down thru the middle of it, loosen the nut and then turn the screw in about an 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time, shug down the lock nut and re check free play DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE SCREW!!
