John Wood Valve Body

What did the VB do for you?
What Characteristics did it change?

I have one on the way and was just curious.

I drive my truck 200 miles a day, and I tow a 9klbs racecar trailer with it on the weekends.

you will love it, it is easy to install, it firms up the shifts, makes them quicker, and the truck will feel alot faster. I love mine!

Cool, right now it shifts from 1-2 as soon as i start moving it seems, I don't car for that. Good to here, should be here in a week or so. Yea I fugured it was easy, rebuild my racing Powerglides, so it will be simple, just curious as to what it will actually do for me.

Same here love it shift real nice shift harder with my transcomand form banks but tried it once!!!

With the addition of the valve body do you need to get your chip reburned?

2000 F350 4wd CC SB PSD
Normal mods plus gauges and PHP chip
Lowered to F250 height
Stock tire size, looks stock.

No, I don't think so, JW and DP work together , so from what I understand I should be fine. Besides I am selling this chip in favor of an f-6 chip.

No need for a re-burn with the JW VB. That came straight from Jody's mouth to my ears about 2 weeks ago.

You don't need a reburn but if Jody knows you have a VB he will leave off some trans parameters. The factory VB is set up for very loooooooong smoooooooooooth shifts, the VB will shorten these up the way they should be. This should increase the live of the clutches in the trans as well as keep some heat down. FTVB has been doing these longer than anyone else, but Greg doesn't get the praise that BTS and JW, do. There isn't much you can do to a VB, so they are all pretty similar, FTVB has been in my truck before you could even buy one from John or Brian.
