first diesel truck...

I am a younger guy going to college and at the moment have no mode of transportation

but this summer i am hoping to save up enough money to be able to purchase a used ford diesel truck

I am trying to find a decently used f250 or f350 7.3L powerstroke (which im pretty sure restricts the years to between 1994-2003)

does anybody have any suggestions on what kind of mileage, year, or type of trans, i should look for??

keep in mind it will be my first diesel truck and my diesel education and financial resources will be very limited (around $6,000-8,000) but i dont mind doing work myself... in fact i enjoy it

open to pretty much any suggestions, advice, or things to look out for

What type of cab configuration do you want? Do you have a problem with higher mileage vehicles? 4x4? The answers to these questions will determine what year/ body style truck you should be able to afford.

with $6k to $8k you should be able to find yourself a really nice OBS truck. (older body style- '94-'97)
