Probably a block heater. Makes the engine easier to start in cold weather.

It's for Hybrid mode. These motors can run off electricity, too.

Man, I sure wish I lived some where that I didn't need to know what that was! Here in upstate NY I not only need the block heater but I've replaced the cord on it twice in the last 8 years!

its for after you wash it you plug it in and it drys.
