me too but i was thinking more along the lines of getting the goverment to go back to the old standard or having the oil companies come up with new ways to make the fuel so that we are not losing power and cooking injectors and such

It almost seems like they are trying to force us in to having to buy a newer diesel. Who knows, maybe OPEC, the EPA and the auto manufacturers are in cahoots with one another

Oh I'm sure they would have some sort of backup plan. Most likely funded by us, the tax payers

Stanadyne lovers?

Ok, I've heard nothing but great stuff about stanadyne products, but the only hassle is that I don't have a reliable source close by... I have to drive 40 miles for the nearest dealer, or order in quantity online. So I take the easy way out, I use powerservice products. Ie: Diesel kleen in the silver bottle 95% of the time and the white bottle for the anti gel formula when its really cold out. Both of these I can get at walmart 3 blocks away or just about anyplace else. My question is that is the stanadyne worth the extra money and hassle? Does the powerservice stuff contain alcohol? I'm of the opinion that something is better than nothing when it comes to additives for my fuel, but are my time and money well spent to get the stanadyne performance product vs. the stuff I'm already using? Just looking for opinions here fellas. Thanks.

I'm not sure if the Diesel Kleen contains alcohol or not. That's the only reason I use Stanadyne. It says on the back of the bottle that it doesn't contain alcohol. It also says on Stanadynes web site that it serves as a fuel stabilizer. Don't know about the Powerservice stuff either. I would say that as long as you get something that has a good lubricating property to it that you should be ok, especially since we have to put up with ULSD
