10k no cold start

I did the "10k mod" this weekend and was working great until I went to start the truck up the next morning. It didnt start at all just turned over with alot of white smoke out the exhaust. I took the resistor back and she started right up...put it back in once it was warmed up and tried it agian...started right up again. Is this a common problem or should I just have patience enough to get my chip?

Hey Midnight Ryder, I think I would wait to get the chip in, with my DP they don't recomend stacking the two, but I'm not sure about the Ts, Might be a good idea to check that out.

Never had any problems with mine. I did my own 10k mod and have a predator programmer. No Problems. Sorry I can't help out more. Though I have never had mine in REALLY cold temps since I have done this.

Yeah, I figured it would be best to wait until I get the chip but my patience says otherwise. It usually dosnt get cold here in vegas but all week we've been around the 30's at night. Im gonna try to switch the wires im using on the icp plug maybe that help. It's such an easy mod, its just my luck it dosnt work well on my rig. My driveway is also on an incline but i dont think that would matter. I also changed my mind after some research insted of the TS chip im ordering the DP.

I think you will like the DP, the tunes on it are awsome, works with the trans sifts and I belive it adjusts the fuel as well, thats why they don't recomend stacking it. You can call Jody direct or I got mine from ITP. Dennis over at ITP was a great help when I was deciding wich way to go, Check out his site. He has a small forum for discusing his parts, and any Questions you may have about them.
