Removing th wastegate line?
What exactly does this do for our trucks.
Yesterday I removed the AIH, and replaced it with a 22m plug, and I also removed and caped the red line to the wastgate, not sure what that does for my truck. |

It will allow you to have more boost. from what i've learned.

I have a stock turbo, what is the max boost i can safely have?
Yesterday I saw 28, close to 29 I am not makign a drag/race truck, just want to pull my racecar trailer with ease |

Well i'd say thats probably close to pushing it.

Ok, that's what I thought as well, so I pluged the red line back in, now I here the turbo fluttering once in a while when i roll onto the gas hard.

On my 02 with the wastgate hooked up i am seeing 31 PSI, I havent had a chance to check it with the wastegate disconnected since i have installed my gauges. i might do that today.

Be careful doing this mod. The flutter you hear is probably your turbo surging.

I always wondered what people were talking about when they mentioned surging. Mine sounds like a bird taking off, albeit a very large bird, but it sounds like wings flapping, sort of, does that make any sense?
What do you mean by be careful, can you elaborate please. Newbe, just reading and doing

No tuning I would run with it unhooked, but on a tuned truck its just so easy to build boost I don't see any reason to unhook it.

I have no problems hitting 31 PSI and holding it with the stock turbo. I have a wicked wheel comming. How much the surge and flutter will that get rid of and how much airflow or boost will it increase??
