Call up Discount Power Parts and get your self a South Bend ConFE or ConOFE Clutch kit. FE is $1000 and OFE is $900. I've had both. OFE is easier to drive and holds a little better with lower power levels. FE is like an ON/OFF switch and is a MONSTER. DO NOT put in the stock-style clutch. Learn from me. Anything more than stock power levels and the stock-style unit, (LUK, FORD, etc) will go out on you in short order. Labor for my last clutch replacement was about $850 and I got the Slave cylinder and some other minor parts replaced as well. Total out the door was just over $2000 with the clutch.
Tell DPP that DITTY sent you and that your from Powerstroke.Org. |

I had my clutch arm (thanks, ford, hope you saved lots of $$ with that cheap arm) snap last oct, I got the southbend OFE kit, got an upgraded arm, flywheel, disc, cover and throwout for about $900. it's rated for 600 hp/1000 ftlbs at the flywheel according to southbend. it's awesome, smooth, easy pedal, I pull a trailer up to 8000 lbs and no trouble so far
not hard to put in ( I did it myself) but you will need a really steady tranny jack, the tranny is alot bigger when you start to pull it than it looks beforehand!! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HELP!!!!! it's also a great time to change transfer and tranny fluids as well |
