Question Trans Temp Gauge Install Question

Can anyone tell me the best place to wire the trans temp gauge up to???

i assume it's an auto? the easiest place on these is in the test port. if memory serves me correct, it's on the driver side in the casing where the pan bolts to the tranny. it's a 1/4" plug i beleive. remove the plug and screw in the sensor.

im not talking about the prone... im talking about the electric wires for the 12volt hook up. where can i power the gauge from???

pull the cover off the fuse panel under the dash, get yourself a test light or volt meter. there are a couple fuses that are for accessories and only have power when the key is on. you can wire it in there. thats where i wired my guages for ignition power. there was even an open plug that i just plugged in a spade connector to.

Diesel Manor has a nice write up on installing gauges, including power sources with pictures, as well as ITP diesel . Very nice write up on both sites.

The fuse box is best. Go get a "tap a fuse" and wire away. The t.a.p.f. has a pigtail with a butt connector afixed to it, so you the fuse box a s your power source.
