Side exit exhaust

I have been thinking about what to do for an exhaust on my truck. I an considering doing 4" pipe, small muffler and exit thru a 5" tip just in front of the rear tire. I was wondering if anyone else has done one similar to this and if so, any feedback. I'd also like to see some pics of any, it get a better idea of the look. Thanks.

I have seen it before, but if you add power to your truck, that black soot is a pain to clean of the side of your truck and wheel.

Right you are Patrick... I've seen gassers with the same setup and those nice aluminum wheels get toasted. Could only imagine it would be much worse belching coal out the pipe.

don't do it!! i did it to my truck and now i am going to make it exit BEHIND the rear tire. i thought that it would be ok, w/ the a 5" tip and that the black smoke wouldn't get the rims that dirty. WRONG. take my advice, don't do it, you'll be kicking yourself when ur cleaning the rim or when u look at ur pretty clean truck and see that soot covered rim sticking out.

I have side exit and love it. Mine dumps down in front of the rear tires. I never have problems with soot, but my truck is a non-smoker.
