CPS issues (recall...)???
It could be completely unrelated and a bent push rod, but last week I picked up my truck from the shop after getting the rear end fixed... They did the CPS recall without my ok. I was pissed but o well...
Now this week I have a obivious miss, #8 fails a cont test and is at 4.5-4.7% value on AE... What issues are people having with the new CPS's??? |

I love my new grey CPS. The truck has never ran so well. I can finally run the windshield wipers without the engine coughing and I don't feel I need to drive in the slow lane to be able to pull the dead engined truck over and restart.
I even bought a spare grey CPS for the glove box. |

I've heard that the new grey cps's have been causing issues with the #8 cylinder on some trucks. I have a grey one and haven't had any problems yet knock on wood.

I just had a new grey cps recall performed also and a #8 cyl. contribution fault as well of 4.6 %. The truck seems to run fine but I'm still curious why also? I was also wondering what does the AE stand for? Thanks!

The #8 misfire is a well known issue with the gray CPS. If i wear you I would go back and demand you get your black CPS back.

I'm debating picking up a spare cps myself. According to carfax, my new to me 99.5 hasn't had the recall performed yet. So since it's apparent I shouldn't get the grey one, where should I get a black one? I've heard of a blue one, is this true?
