Question transfer case

I decided to change the transfer case fluid while I was doing the rear diff. Anyway my driveway is on a slight increase and I am wondering exactly how much fluid it takes. I squeezed about 2 and a half quarts in. Does that sound about right?

i have a 97 but the chiltons manual said to fill it until it pours out of the fill plug. i think there is a drain and a fill plug.

ya i did but was making up for the angle my truck sat at when i was filling it. anyone know exactly how much it takes?
