an idea, watcha think

so me and my buddy were driving back to school after the break and just talking and when we came up with an idea about a different economy tune.
what do you guys think of an economy tune that runs only four cylinders at a time? or even six? i know it's possible since these trucks will cut out half of them when it gets too hot. but would that even give you enough power to cruise? i've never even had it run in cripple mode so idk. just an idea thought i'd throw out there

if you cut fuel you still gotta overcome compression which will rob power... kinda useless unless you can hold an exhaust valve open to make the cylinder "coast"

Your better off having a tune that "de-tunes" the motor so it used less fuel.

ok yea makes sense. oh well, thought i would ask. seemed like a good idea at the time lol
