What is the Difference in the Early 99 7.3 Motors and later? Is there a HP difference

Ok, a gentleman had said that the early 99 7.3 Superdutys have the "V8" badge on the front of the fender. I noticed that the air box is different. He also said that they have less HP/TQ, is this true? What else is the difference?

Can I still use a regular programmer for a 99?

If you go the programer route yes...

A programer on a E99 will normaly get you to about 280hp...

A programer on a L99 and on will get you to about 300hp...

The differance mainly comes from the AB injectors in the E99 (about 120cc) vrs the late 99 AD injectors (140cc)...

Mine's an early 99 and I have door badges. Way too easy for someone to swap. The best sure-fire way to tell is the build date.
