Tuner Question???

I have friend with an 01 F-350 7.3. He knows where he can get a Superchips Flashpaq for like $100.00 He isn't want nothing fancy or a wallet breaker. Just something to give his truck a lil more bump in power for pulling his trailer and maybe help his fuel economy. My main question is how good is this for the price? Is it even worth fooling with or should he go for another route? He also look at a Diablosport tuner for like $120.00? What should he do?

I also need to mention he plans on running the lowest setting which is i think 40hp/80trq. on the Superchips. So ummm yeah.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal for a c-note if all he's doing is towing. Anything else brand-new would be well over $300. Anyway, here's a

For that price he could probably re-sell it if he isn't happy.

I would look around saw a TW Chip going for around $225 on here the other day

I know thats over twice the money but is a great deal

Looking for 05-07 front end with Harley Lights

That's what I'd say to do if he didn't mind spending the extra $$$. In the wonderful world of Google, you always find a great deal on things.

I hear that! I couldn't believe the stuff I found for my rig online. We live in a great era of computer technology. I'd say buy the SCT, sell it a little more than what he got it for(it can be done!) & look for a deal on something better. superduty4x4 suggested selling it if he didn't like it, so if he doesn't, he has a plan now.

Save your money... get a DP Tuner. you'll get better mpg and more power. You'll get the advantage of selctable on the fly tunes, for towing, deceleration, econo, no-start (theft deterant) and in the long run be more satisfied.

No matter what you get, make sure you get some gauges... EGT, Boost, and trans temp.
