Got my PSD!
Brought my new (to me) 2001 F-250 home last night. Duties will include pulling a race trailer, looking in the 32' range. This was by far the cleanest truck I looked at and the price wasn't bad either.

looks clean. congrats. is it 4x4?
|

No, just 2WD. 4x4 would be nice for the occasional winter outing here in Michigan, but its not going to be used as a DD, the econo-box does fine in the snow, especially with Blizzak's.

Question, manual says GCWR is 20,000#, but lists conventional hitch/tag trailers at only 10K. Gooseneck/Fifth wheel at GCWR minus GVW, closer to 12K? Weren't 2002's rated at 12 or 12.5K trailer with the same GCWR? Is their an important difference between 2001 and 2002 that allows the extra weight for a conventional trailer? How would a load-leveler hitch play into this whole equation? |
