FAN CLUTCH ???

Need help! how do you test for a bad fan clutch on 2000 7.3? When truck is cold it takes alot to turn the fan by hand. Then when you turn it a few turns it fells like it looens up. The reason i think it is bad that under a hard load pull trailer it locks up to produce more air but takes forever to unlock and makes alot of loud noise. And if it is.do you recomed aftermaket like napa and how do you get loose is it left loose or the other way thanks for any help andy

like scuff said sounds good but what kind of noise is it making if it sounds like a loud squeaking noise it could be your belt tensioner going bad on ya
