turbo interchange?

blew the turbo seals on my turbo and now i need to replace it, what turbos will fit on a 01 psd? i know where their is a 99 turbo, will that work?

As far as what years of factory turbos work....The 99.5 to 2003 7.3L will have a turbo that will work. An early 99 turbo will not work. Hope that is what you were looking for.

if i rebuild it but dont balace it, how long will it last?

Should last you a while no problem, well within reason,and assuming you dont beat the crap out of it. I didnt balance mine. Make sure you check your comp wheel and make sure you dont need a new one. I rebuilt mine, and have a write up in the tech files, and its been great. Beans Diesel sells the rebuild kit. Also, I put a 1.0 exhaust housing on mine, and it spools faster and lowered my EGTs a bit.

7.3L Turbo Rebuild

i ordered a rebuild kit today, i guess i wll attempt to rebuild it, i pulled out of the shop and noticed oil pouring out the exhaust pipe, i guess i blew my exhaust side seal because no oil in intake side, compressor wheel is good and there was no shaft play so what would cause the seal to just blow out of the turbo? i just changed the oil on it and had to have it towed home, seeing a stroker on a flatbed just dont look right.

You might want to check to see if anyone is nearby to help you out. That way you can have it balanced too!
