I use the Valvoline Blue 15w40 in my truck and its a pretty good oil in my opinion. I would only use Motorcraft filters though

Valvoline is good stuff just stay away from Penzoil!! Make sure the oil they use is for diesels and the proper weight. I have heard many many reports of these lube places filling a diesel with 10W40 !!! I really prefer to do this myself, but that's not what you are asking.

Stick with the motorcraft filters tho. Other filters have slightly different dimensoions, which can cause a little bit longer starts, because they dont close the drainback valve.

Agrees with NChornet; Just make sure it's-->Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40.
Engine Oil As for your oil filter: Motorcraft is a very good quality filter. Just make sure your OCI don't go past 5K miles. Champion Labs I beleive still makes Valvoline filters. In which Champion makes alot of good filters--> Champion Labs Bosch Car and Driver Deutsch Mobil 1 STP SuperTech K&N Valvoline filters Mighty Service Champ Lee AutoZone Value Craft Some AC Delco VW (some) Warner Luberfiner Trust Last edited by Von Jammer; 03-08-2009 at 06:23 AM. |
