Torque converter lock up switch question

I have a P0743 code and have detemined that my selenoid body in the tranny is shot or on its way out.....no TC lockup. Those selenoid bodies are pretty expensive. I was wondering if the lock up switch was a cheap solution to fix this. Anybody know

no. because it will not lock any more u need a new solenoid pack i had to get one to from Ford $285.00

So i was reading up on the torque converter lockup switch and first off my purple wire with the yellow tracer is in pin 3 and the writeups say it is in pin 4?
